Would You Want To Be Immortal?

I'll be 60 in 2045 - should I like to be 60 forever? How would you feel about be frozen in time and existing as a machine?

  1. I would love to be immortal, I want to see what the future has in store for us.

  2. Take the red pill and enter the matrix.

Personally, I believe we are already living in a simulation that we setup as a utopia from a different universe, existence or whatever because we ruined our previous habitat. Very similar to what we are doing to Earth right now with plastics, radiation and arguably fossil fuel emissions. Might we reach a point where we are forced to continue our consciousness in a machine after destroying our habitat here?

I'm not sure I would want to live in a matrix because I would know none of it is real. Knowing that every tangible sensation was not real would likely ruin the experience.

Nice post Eric. Really gets me thinking.

  5. Hmm, I would be 52 in 2045; probably not the age I'd want to remain at if I were to be immortal.

  7. Being immortal by myself? No thank you. Around friends? Yes please! I would love to live long enough to see long distance space travel become a regular thing. Also what the future holds for mankind is exciting!
